Teaching in the 21st Century



As a future educator in a 21st century, being facilitator and teacher to our future students. It may simply engage, committed to our profession by accept and adopt the challenge for the environmental changes of education system. The responsibilities in our profession as a future educator we may simple way of teaching in the helps of modern technology in the teaching learning method to carry  with complicated mix challenge and opportunities by then it is a part for a better growth in our specialization as a future educator in the 21st century. The most common challenges we may accept as teacher are the accountabilities, changing crowd population and most of them the student expectation through the power of technology-base of tools and resources that we will provide as a reliable sources. To address these a successfully challenge to a better educational learning outcomes with a better strategies, method and tools we may present in the future generation of 21st century that can provide and support the needs for the productive environment as a teacher need it to reach, to teach and to support each student’s learning outcomes by performing and by its potential capabilities. 






By using in different application in the field of teaching instructions, we put our students mind to engage the subject matter in appreciating, analyzing and applying in the field of educational technologies. Simply to understand for the benefits of the student how it will be easier way for them to adopt the knowledge in the subject matter, being much interesting for the audience and students to visualize the reality, principle and technical aspect in the help of different computer application in the field of educational technology study.

The History of Technology in

Education



Technology has been closely linked with teaching and according to the Bible, Moses used chiseled stone to convey the Ten Commandments in 7th century BC. To summarize the Educational Technology develops in terms of the main modes of communication.


  • Oral communication,  is one of the earliest form of teaching through human speech. In technology has been increasingly used to facilitate oral communication. In ancient times, story, folklore, trade and news were transmitted through oral communication. In the form of oral tradition is still the case in many aboriginal cultures, for the ancient Greeks the oratory and speech were the means by which people learned and passed on learning.
  • Written communication, a role of text or writing in education have railed against the use of writing, written forms of communication make analytic, lengthy chains of reasoning and argument much more accessible. In 15th century was the year invented the printing press in Europe and it was a truly disruptive technology. As a result of the explosion of written documents resulting from the mechanization of printing and rapid expansion of formal education in Europe.
  • Broadcasting and Video, using a combination of television and radio programs it focused more on promoting education and learning such as documentaries, demonstration of processes and case studies. In 1920 began broadcasting educational radio programs in the school that was 1924 the first adult education radio broadcast from BBC was a talk on Insects in Relation to Man.
  • Computer Technologies / Computer-based learning, base on the theory of behaviorism started experimenting with teaching machines that use of programmed learning in 1954. Skinner's teaching machines were one of the forms of computer-based learning and development of programmed learning aims to computerize teaching, by structuring information, testing learner's knowledge at the same time to providing immediate feedback to learners.
  • Computer Networking, in 1982 Arpanet in the USA was the first to use the Internet protocol. The Word Wide Web (www) was formally lunched in 1991, an application running on the Internet that enables end-users to create and link documents, videos or other digital media without the need for the end-user to transcribe everything into some form of computer code. The first web browser is Mosaic it was made and available in 1993, it required lengthy and time-consuming methods to load text and to find material on the internet. Several search engine have been developed since 1993. with Google, created in 1999 emerging as one of the primary search engines.
  • Online Learning Environments, provide an online teaching environment, where content can be loaded and organized, as well as providing "spaces" for learning objectives, student activities, assignment questions and discussion forums. The first fully online courses (for credit) started to appear in 1995, some of using Learning Management System (LMS) other just loading text as PDFs or slides. The materials were mainly text and graphics. LMSs became the main online learning was offered until Lecture Capture System arrive around 2008 and expanded rapidly around the world.

 I guess in the near future as we educator, we will be using for the high technologies such of learning materials in base of study, communication and strategies in a learning outcomes. A very rapidly involves of changes in the way of daily life; most of that time they have easier in transmuted knowledge information's. The accessible of technology is everywhere in base on the gadgets and tools for teaching. Internet browser and the social media that help us to communicate in access the needs of information's in studies .


What is Education Technology for me?




Educational Technology is referring to the relationship between the Education and Technology, in the perception and concept of information technologies by using of educational tools in teaching learning programs.



Expectation in Education Technology





I will expect in this subject to gain more knowledge in technology, to enhance my capabilities and skills in using of computer-based learning in such a way of Educational Technology.
